Role Title: QA Engineer/Software Developer in Test

Reporting to: QA Manager

Role Status: Permanent

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the QA Manager, the QA Engineer will work alongside a development squad/team to develop automated tests for new features the development team are working on. The QA Engineer will advise the development team on making new features testable before development starts. The QA Engineer will manually test features that cannot be automated and provide regression tests for functional changes to the System under Test. The QA Engineer will be able to create test reports to show the level of test coverage and defects identified.

  • A software developer focusing on quality
  • Work with development team to advise on testability of new features
  • Design and development of automated functional and load tests
  • Select tools to be used for validation and analysis of product features
  • Follow the overall development process and methodology
  • Communicate with business users and document key test scenarios
  • Investigate test failures, identify design flaws, and suggest potential solutions
  • Provide thorough automated testing enabling the Company to deliver features to the customer rapidly

Essential Competencies/Skills:

  • BSc in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Strong experience in automated testing
  • Java development with Junit, TestNG, Cucumber
  • Experience of Selenium WebDriver, Cypress
  • Experience with contract testing
  • Experience with SQL (MySQL, SQL Server)
  • Experience of source code management with GIT/GITLAB or similar
  • Exposure to Continuous integration with Jenkins or similar
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Familiar with Behaviour Driven Development framework
  • Knowledge of API/Interface testing
  • Knowledge of Cypress and contract testing
  • Comfortable building tests from Dataflow documentation
  • Experience of JIRA (or other defect tracking tools)
  • Experience of documenting test scenarios
  • Strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to prioritise and multitask
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential
